A privately produced volume purporting to be his biography written allegedly in 1955, but it contains references to events not only after that date, but after Caru’s disappearance It only surfaced at a car boot sale in 2002 and is regarded to be a fake. Much of the contents are contradictory, disprovable, lack evidence, and are physically impossible. However the chapters concerning his early years as a child and young man are more credible and informative. It is highly likely that that Caru was the ghost writer for his own fake biography.

Now a second and more accurate biography is being written. The author was part of the Caru Foundation, but there was a falling out over what were really quite trivial issues concerning his writings. Now, with the apparent return or re-emergence of Caru, we have decided to put our differences aside and cooperate in regard to both the new biography and solving the mystery of his reappearance after 49 years absence. It is hoped that the latter will be solved in time to be part of the biography, but if not, then the missing years would make a worthy sequel.
