Caergwrle Castle, 28th July 2010

This was not an orchid spotting foray. We were off to Caergwrle to follow the village trail and see things like the medieval packhorse bridge and the remains of the spa. First on the list though was Caergwrle Castle. The walk up to the top is not as bad as it seems from the bottom, and you soon arrive at the castle. Here in the Bailey area was a moderate sized colony of Common Spotted Orchids which I seem to have forgotten to photograph!
