Greengrocers Two Pence A branch of the Guild omitted from the original issue is corrected by this stamp issued when Mr Antimony Parker became the guild Grand Master. The illustration by Jane Debny is this artist’s only contribution to the DW stamp repertoire (though she provided artwork the Puck of Pooks Hill stamp). Personally I think she missed a trick by not using the ‘greengrocer’s apostrophe’. For some reason there was nor sport of this stamp. Very ornately the sheet informed us that, instead of Teemer and Spools the AMPO used Cripslock (perhaps for the first time) at the Street of the Cunning Artificers for the printing of this stamp.
This stamp was issued in celebration of the wedding of Mr Antimony Parker (as he was the incumbent Grand Master) and was used on the Wedding Invitation cover. This illustrates the incident in Going Postal when the backlog of old letters in the AMPO building finally get delivered and Mr Parker finally gets a reply from an old flame. The invitation was made out to the purchaser and came with a vellum textured pre-paid envelope addressed to the father of the groom for the acceptance.
