A series of covers were inspired by a section in Making Money, when Moist has been summoned to Vetinari’s office and wrongly assumes that it is due to damage to some of the mail by snails. In order to control the toads that were supposed to remove the snails, snakes were introduced into the post boxes “We got carried away', said Moist. 'We were a bit too creative in our thinking. We encouraged mongooses to breed in the posting boxes to keep down the snakes ....' Lord Vetinari said nothing. 'er ... which, admittedly, we introduced into the posting boxes to reduce the number of toads ....' Lord Vetinari repeated himself. 'Er ,, which, it's true, staff put in the posting boxes to keep down the snails ..' Lord Vetinari remained unvocal. 'Er ..... These, I must in fairness point out, go into the boxes of their own accord, in order to eat the glue on the stamps,' said Moist, aware he was beginning to burble. These covers were available only through the GCTS scheme and were quite limited; limited to 70 in the case of the Snake Venom cover which used the One Penny Anoia stamps. This cover came from the United Temple of Assorted Deities, addressed to The Householder, and asking for a contribution to their coffers (un the form of unused stamps) in return for prayers to the Lesser Know Gods tailored to the donor. Blessings will then fall from the sky and enemies will be smited. The flyer inside has a One Penny Anoia stamp loosely attached for the return postage. This is the only source of the Anoia stamp overprinted with FOR ECCLESIACTICAL USE ONLY NOT FOR RESALE in red. If used for any other purpose, you are informed, you will incur both the wrath of the gods and the AMPO.
