Despite the Merchants Guild stamps were on sale for over two years, stamp production still being near the bottom of a learning curve, and that there were five stamps, the number of errors is surprisingly low. This may be a combination of early enthusiasm ensuring quality control, together with relatively large stamp sheets - fewer sheets required reduces errors.
Both the Three Pence and the Five Dollar stamps have been reported as being blurred print. These result from poor colour registration to varying degrees. The Three Pence is sometimes seen referred to as a colour shade variation, as this is the net effect. There will be 48 of these in existence, plus only one sport, for each sheet affected; there may have been only one such sheet.
The only other error seems to be a Three Pence stamp again, with an extra vertical perforation running through the right hand value tablet. There will be just seven of these.
