The first issue of stamps from Bad Blintz during the Year of the Signifying Frog is notable for several reasons. By far this has been the biggest single set of stamps by any Discworld stamp issuing authority. Despite what is stated on the sheet selvedge they were printed by BDT Security Printers of Dublin. The print quality if therefore superior to many of the contemporary issues. They are comb perforated, which means that both directions are perforated in one pass, with the holes always perfectly positioned in the corners. The actual perforations are 13.5 per 2 mm. To be printed and perforated like this the stamp sizes had to conform with the company`s existing comb sizes, and three were chosen for the issue. Three lower value stamps of 21x26 mm, three of 35x40 mm, and one high value of 62x31 mm. Despite using a security print company at least two values have shown shade variations. The 1 Bz appeared in a brighter shade of brown, while the 10 Bz has varieties with a more greenish-grey or purplish-grey colour. There with be sport versions of these varieties. Their existence suggests that there may have been a reprint of some or all values. The artwork was by David Wyatt, who returned to DW stamp design in 2015 with the fourth Unseen University stamp set. All the illustrations are taken the text of The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents. Keith and Sardines get their own stamps, the Rathaus appears on two, and the famous painting Signing of the Pact features on the highest value. Colin Edwards was responsible for putting together the stamp designs. There was one sport per sheet for each value - some of these were quite hard to spot. The stamps were introduced in the Spring Fate LBE.
