More Firsts

This page contains a mish-mash of other collectables associated with the first Bad Blintz stamps.

A few 10 Bz stamps appeared with a crowned 15 as an underprint on the gummed side. The relevance of this is unknown.
Once the designs had been finalised some test stamps on an inkjet were printed on plain ungummed paper. They were of a rather crude quality, but the intention would have been to ensure that they looked as intended. Some of these were square cut, and have appeared in mixed bags of Cinderella stamps for collectors. Below are imperforate examples of the 10 Bz and 20 Bz test prints.

The 50 Bz values were also available in stamp booklets. The  booklets held 10 stamps in two columns of five stamps which were  imperforate along the edges, but perforated between stamps. It would  appear that these panes were not sourced from the regular 50 Bizlot  stamp sheets, as the panes have a large goldish bottom selvedge which is absent from the sheet. No sports appear in the stamp panes.
Military overprints of these booklets were prepared for emergency use in Zlobenia. See
this page for details.

As stated, the stamps were unveiled in the Spring Fate LBE released April 2006. This was limited to 1,200 pieces. Collectors could also purchase an artist’s proof sheet of the 100 Bz Signing of the Pact stamp, a cover that marked that event with the full set of stamps, and a consulate cover. The cover show the Bad Blintz frank.
