Back in late 2004 or early 2005 Colin Edwards was asked to produce some new sports for the $1 green Tower of Art stamp. Four of these were adopted for distribution in LBEs from May onwards, but other designs were passed on for consideration by the Emporium and Terry Pratchett, and were rejected, or possibly had their release canceled because collectors were finding the profusion of unannounced sports confusing and frustrating.

Some of these are known to collectors who have read all the old Cunning Artificer forum posts, and others are revealed by an imperforate sheet of TOA stamps prepared by Colin in 2007 as an archive of all of the TOA stamps, both common and sport, that had been through the design process.

These unreleased sports are the five stamps that comprise The Birds set, two Open Door sports, a reversed E, and an Extra Windows sport. There were most likely others considered. I have heard that to complete the Falling Man and Splash sequence there nearly was a follow up with Death standing by the water’s edge.
