This page will, for the present, concentrate on the Year of the Three Roses definitive stamps. I debated whether to move the stamps from the Circle Sea states here as those were all originally issued in that year. However I feel those deserve a main heading of their own, and any subsequent issues (like the Klatch 2 wol) end up either out of place or are divorced from their predecessors.

It is the Penny Patrician from this year that is the most entertaining to DW collectors, with the LBE only Sports and a a load of ‘wannabe’ Sports that never made the grade. However the British Library archive has some sheets for the 2p, 5p and 10p definitives which are best described as colour proposals. Have a look to see what I mean/
