The 2011 season kicks of with a holiday in Crete. Though not designed as an orchid spotting trip (a tad too late in the season there), it does provide some spotting opportunities.

Otherwise its still a consolidation year. We seem to have visited all the relatively local places listed as orchid sites, but one new and rare species is added to the list. on the eve of a ferry trip to France I visit Parkgate Down for the Monkey Orchids. Sadly two other sites with similar exotics fail to deliver. Llynclys Common on the other hand does - orchids everywhere!
