My interest in Orchids had dimmed a bit over the previous few years, due to a myriad of other interests, but the purchase of a digital camera provided a chance to photo some in 2006 at Formby in Lancashire. Come 2007, and I started to visit some previously known sites and build up a small collection of photos. I had some 18 species and varieties from 8 localities logged by the end of 2007. Many of these came from just two sites; Minera Quarry near Wrexham, and Ynys Las dunes. But, importantly, no real plans to see the all species, just taking it as and when an opportunity arose. Two trips to West Wales provided the majority of the sites, firstly travelling up from Ynys Las up to Anglesey, and then some time around Aberystwyth.
