The Octarine Grass Country features in two of the DEATH related books – Mort and Reaper Man. No surprises that DEATH makes a Hitchcockian style cameo appearance on the 2p stamp’ sheet sport. You can see him striding out into the wheatfield, scythe over his shoulder.

The original printing for these stamps was rejected before perforating before of the accidental appearance of the scythe alone in a second accidental sport on the top stamp in column two. These sheets were rubber-stamped as rejects (using the same stamp used on the Thieves Guild rejected proof sheets) and offered to collectors via the GCTS scheme.
