A different way to display your Discworld stamps could be a thematic approach. Such collectors this side of the inter -dimensional portal choose subjects like specific animals, trains, ships, maps on stamps, or even lighthouses! Picking any of these as a theme for a Discworld collection and you would be lucky to fill half an album page. I can think of just two doggy stamps, one with a train, and some license would be needed when choosing any of the other subjects. But there is one theme that springs to mind – the Clacks on Stamps. In this I doubt that there is a RW stamps equivalent, even though semaphore message relay systems were quite extensively used in many countries; they had effectively passed away and were dismantled before pictorial stamps became widespread.

The choice of the Clacks as a theme is more appropriate when you consider that the rivalry between the Ankh-Morpork Post Office and the Grand Trunk Semaphore Company was central to the plot underlying Going Postal. Mail versus Clacks, Moist versus Reacher Gilt. With Adora Belle Dearheart regaining control of the Grand Trunk, not only the two companies cooperate, but Moist’s love life blossomed too - despite his knavery which precipitated the ruination of the Dearheart management of the Clacks and its takeover by Gilt.
