You can look for Laernu on maps, in atlases or on GoogleEarth, but you will not find it. That has not stopped some people, from intrepid explorers to sportsmen to ordinary people, from our world crossing the divide. You cannot plan to visit Laernu, but you might just find that you have arrived. This has resulted in an exchange of culture between worlds with us gaining the Laernuean philatelic items you can see here. We do find out a little more about Laernu, snippet by snippet, from the different issues. One day all will be revealed we hope.

On our world these stamps were originally intended to be used to decorate outgoing mail, and decorate is an apt description because they do that with a touch of class. As their fame spread the stamps became coveted collectors items. Collecting became more intense when it was realised that some stamps harboured variations from the regular design, and then, with the Sportens issues, a wide variety of printing variations were found; but more of this later.
