Civic Cabbage

Issue 3 of the Stanley Howler Stamp Journal had another Penny Patrician variety as the free gift, and therefore limited to about 500 copies. With corner cartouches showing cabbages, and A and M. The Penny Civic had H and V, and A and M. The regular stamp had cabbages, and D and W. Got that? Simple isn`t it? The Civic Cabbage is said to be based on an old design, but to be frank, the only difference I can ascertain is those corner letters and motifs. I remember comments that Vetinari`s nose was different, but to me it is the same as the regular Penny Patricians. I have overlaid a Cabbage Civic and a identically sized Wincanton perforated stamp, and slowly faded the top one out, which should highlight any differences. Nothing leaps out at me, that cannot be explained by scanning and resizing the images.

A few imperforate Civic Cabbages have found their way onto Roundworld post in a purely decorative role.
