Wincanton Perforated

After the Emporium had bought its own perforating machine, negating the need to arrange visits to Bath, it became easier for them to produce the extra stamps needed when they needed them. Despite having had 1750 Penny sheets from Enschede, they obviously needed more. But that company is not geared up to topping up with a few sheets. Hence Colin would get a few more of the 91 stamps sheets printed and these would be Wincanton perforated. These were printed by smaller printing firms in Suffolk and Norfolk, and though small, they did have some of the best printing kit in the U.K. at the time. This personal touch also saw some changes in the print runs over time, and it should be possible to see evidence of this in the Close-Up section. these two stamps show print differences and therefore result from different print runs.

All Wincanton perforated Patricians were only found in LBEs.
