SORCERY

Inne Juste 7 Dayes I wille make you a Barbearian Hero!

Death visits a dying wizard, Inslore, the eight son of an eighth son, who has just fathered an eighth son. For getting married he had been expelled from the Unseen University because wizards are not meant to do that. For this Inslore still has a bit of a grievance. The eighth son of a wizard would be a Sorcerer, who would possess the primal magic of the early days. The wizard cheats Death by incorporating his spirit into his staff at the hand-over to his baby son, Coin.

Ten years later the University is shook to its foundations, and all the rats jump ship, as well as the cockroaches and bed bugs. The Sourcerer is coming; a doorway to new magick. Coin defeats the latest Chancellor at his initiation and assumes that role. He is aided and abetted by Marmaric Carding, Head of the Brotherhood of Hoodwinkers, one of the 7+1 orders of wizardry. The wizards, nearly to a man, are behind him. The ceremonial hat though, is stolen by Conina, daughter of Cohen the Barbarian, and is delivered to Rincewind. Having sat on 200 chancellor’s heads the hat now has a sentience of its own, and it instructs Rincewind and Conina to take it to Klatch.

Meanwhile Coin is transforming the University. He summons Vetinari (accompanied by Wuffles) and transforms him into a lizard. The Wizards start to take over Ankh-Morpork, rebuilding it by magic into gleaming marble and even the Ankh River flows with pure water.

En-route to Klatch Rincewind`s ship is attacked by pirates and the hat is taken. When they arrive at Al Khali he and Conina are captured and brought to the Seriph, Creosote. Conina is sent to the harem, and Rincewind to the snake pit where he meets Nijel the Destroyer. Creosote however is not so despotic and eventually entertains the three to Klatchian coffee, an offer that should be refused. The Grand Vizier, Abrim, arranged the hat theft and dons it. It takes him over, just as sourcery arrives at Al Khali. A battle of magic between Abrim/the hat and wizards breaks out with massive towers being built and the Roxie Palace is destroyed. Meanwhile The Luggage who followed them, but got drunk after being rejected by Conina, is wandering the Klatchian Desert. He captures and eats a Chimera, a Basilisk and probably a Phoenix. Rincewind, Conina Nijel and Creosote escape on a flying carpet.

Coin, still being directed by his staff, has trapped The Gods in a little pearl so they can no longer interfere, but this releases the Ice Giants who threaten Discworld itself. Rincewind arrives and challenges Coin to a battle armed with a half brick inside a sock. The staff instructs Coin to destroy him, but Coin finds him funny, and sick of not being in charge of his own destiny throws his staff away. Death pounces and captures Inslore`s soul. Coin restores all that has been done and deciding Discworld is no place for him creates himself his own little universe and steps inside. Normality (or what passes for such in Discworld) returns.
